In just a few short months, Meeting Tomorrow will move into our new home, located directly on the Chicago River at 2901 West Lawrence Avenue. This new home is the only commercial property in Chicago with exclusive access to the Chicago River.
For the last year, our team has been working tirelessly with architects and designers to ensure that our new home reflects the people, values, and culture that Meeting Tomorrow embodies. It is really important to us at MT that our new home retains the culture that organically grew within our team and the physical walls of our previous office.
Our ‘new’ building was built in 1920 and many of its original features are being preserved. My personal favorites include the authentic exposed brick, a 30 foot high ceiling, grand bowstring truss-work, and a dramatic skylight. The skylight will create a greenhouse effect for the future oasis of indoor plants and herbs in the center of the space. The new elements we’ve added feature a canopied entrance with an outdoor patio at the northwest corner of the building, complete with space for greenery in the spring and summer seasons.
Throughout our new home, you can see a beautiful rich blue epoxy river motif flowing, to reflect the adjacent Chicago River. The open floor concept offers a welcoming entryway with a custom front desk, copious amounts of indoor bike parking as well as spaces to lounge and socialize. This open-floor plan will feature 92 workstations complete with sit to stand desks that encourages real-time collaboration amongst departments.
We are all very excited for this move and can’t wait to have you visit! Don’t worry- we’ll reach out when we’re ready for visitors.
